On this day, Goddess Kali killed all the demons. After that she didn’t stop and started killing every one on his way. To stop her, lord Shiva came her way. In another story, when Shri Ram Ji came back to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile, then many regions of Himachal Pradesh does not know this news. They came to know one month later after exact date. 
So, every year they celebrate Diwali one month later. In Sikh religion, the foundation of Golden Temple was established on this day. Shri Guru, Hargobind Singh Ji, was liberated from the prison of the Mughal emperor. It’s also said that Goddess Laxmi was married to Lord Vishnu on this holy day. Lord Krishna killed the narkasur and freed the 16000 women from his prison on the day of Diwali.
